[Kavinsky had no real concept of personal space, so he didn't mind how close Aidan sat to him. In fact, he leaned over a little to nudge him with his shoulder after he spoke.]

I'm glad you decided to show. A party's always better than staying at home.

[Especially if it was one of Kavinsky's parties. But also if Aidan had just gotten here, that meant he hadn't had anything to drink yet. That would change if Kavinsky had anything to say about it.]

Do you want a drink? I could get one for you.

[By which he meant he could get someone else to get it, but that was close enough. Drinking was more or less a party staple, even if someone had driven here. Drugs were an added bonus, but he wouldn't press that subject.]
