[He made a quiet noise in response to the first bit, more to just acknowledge that he'd heard Gansey because now he was much more interested in other things. Like the way Gansey had leaned into his touch. Kavinsky was cruel, but he wasn't cruel enough to lead someone on. When he was interested in someone, he was interested. Any leading on that happened was purely accidental, borne from obliviousness. He didn't expect there to be strings attached in most cases, and people were prone to catching feelings- himself included.
But this was- he was feeling Gansey out. They'd known each other for a few months by now but they didn't know each other. He couldn't say he was invested in changing that just yet, but he could be convinced to want to know the inner workings of Richard Gansey.
He leaned in a little closer- he had absolutely no concept of personal space (or rather, he did, but only when it suited him)- and said:]
I was thinking about kissing you.
[And then, well, he did kiss him. He assumed Gansey would stop him if he wasn't into it, and Kavinsky wouldn't try to force it beyond that.]
